The Abu Dhabi Knee and Sports Medicine Centre, established by Mubadala in 2006, is the first healthcare facility in the Middle East specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with knee and sports-related injuries.
The Centre provides high quality, state-of-the-art healthcare based on international standards and evidence based medicine to patients in the UAE and the region.
Knee injuries are one of the most common musculoskeletal problems experienced by patients in the region. The Centre offers patients the latest advances in rehabilitation and surgical techniques including arthroscopically-assisted ACL surgery, meniscus preservation, articular cartilage repair, minimally invasive knee replacement surgery, and arthroscopic and open shoulder procedures.
One of the unique initiatives of the Centre is the establishment of a Tissue Bank. Currently, high quality, fresh-frozen bone and soft tissue grafts are only available in the USA and a few European countries. These grafts are invaluable in the treatment of patients with failed knee ligament surgery and patients requiring reconstruction of more than one knee ligament.
